Project Overview

Zulum Haya Kowm (Persecuted Nation) is an educational indoor drama presented by the Rohingya Student Society (RSS) in collaboration with NRELC to commemorate World Refugee Day 2026. Performed by NRELC students, the production tells a powerful story of pain, resilience, and survival, highlighting the human experiences and challenges associated with persecution and displacement.

The project uses dramatic storytelling as a medium for community awareness, emotional expression, and social education. It aims to encourage audiences to reflect on the importance of humanity, compassion, dignity, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence.

Beyond its artistic purpose, this initiative forms part of RSS and NRELC's commitment to extracurricular learning, student development, and youth empowerment. By participating in the production, students gain opportunities to develop creativity, confidence, communication, teamwork, and performance skills while contributing to a meaningful community initiative.

Project Objectives

The primary objectives of this project are to:

  • Raise Awareness: Encourage greater understanding of refugee experiences, persecution, displacement, and resilience.
  • Promote Humanity and Compassion: Inspire empathy, solidarity, and respect for the dignity of every individual.
  • Empower Students: Provide young people with opportunities to express themselves through drama and creative storytelling.
