On the occasion of Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day 2026, the Rohingya Student Society (RSS), in collaboration with NRELC, proudly presents Rohingyar Foriyad (The Cry of the Rohingya), a powerful outdoor drama created and performed by our students and RSS members.
This meaningful project aims to raise awareness within the Rohingya community, preserve our cultural heritage, and express our collective aspirations for justice, dignity, peace, and a better future. Through drama and storytelling, we seek to highlight the importance of historical remembrance, cultural preservation, youth empowerment, and community solidarity.

🎭 Purpose and Educational Value
This drama was produced as an integral part of our students’ extracurricular learning journey. We firmly believe that participation in creative and educational arts helps students develop essential skills, including creativity, confidence, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Furthermore, this initiative is part of our broader mission to preserve, promote, and celebrate Rohingya culture, traditions, history, and identity. Through drama and other forms of artistic expression, we aim to pass our cultural heritage on to future generations, ensuring that the richness of our identity remains alive despite the challenges our community continues to face.
Key Educational Objectives
1. Critical Thinking and Historical Awareness
Encouraging students to explore important historical events and understand the challenges affecting the Rohingya community.
2. Confidence and Public Speaking
Helping students strengthen their communication skills, public speaking abilities, and confidence through dramatic performance.
3. Teamwork and Creativity
Providing opportunities for students to collaborate in scriptwriting, acting, directing, and other aspects of creative production.
4. Cultural Preservation and Identity
Using drama and storytelling to preserve Rohingya traditions, share our history, and strengthen cultural identity among younger generations.

Promoting awareness, justice, human dignity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual understanding through educational and artistic expression.
Through Rohingyar Foriyad, our youth are using art and storytelling as powerful tools for education, remembrance, cultural preservation, and community advocacy.
